Individuals and organisations subscribing agree to abide by the Healthcare Trainers Network 'Code of Ethics' giving confidence to businesses and learners that the training provided will be undertaken ethically.
CODE OF ETHICS
1. Trainers shall comply with the laws, standards and regulations appertaining to their training course delivery.
2. Trainers shall be familiar with the applicable legislation, standards and regulations appertaining to the healthcare & social care training courses they deliver.
3. Trainers shall respect the rights, welfare, and dignity of all participants.
4. Trainers shall not discriminate against colleagues or course participants.
5. Trainers must be committed to competent training provision for all their participants.
6. Trainers must treat as confidential all information learned in the performance of their professional duties, while observing relevant disclosure requirements i.e., where it is considered that a vulnerable adult or child may be at risk of abuse.
7. Trainers shall maintain and promote high professional standards in their training course delivery.
8. Trainers shall not misrepresent, either directly or indirectly, their skills, knowledge, training, professional credentials or identity.
9. Trainers shall provide only those courses for which they are qualified through education or experience as recognised by accreditation or meeting industry standards.
10.Trainers shall recognise the need for continuing professional development (CPD) and participate in educational activities that enhance their skills and knowledge.
11.Trainers shall not engage in conduct that could be construed as a conflict of interest or that reflects negatively on their professional trainer status.
12.Trainers must conduct themselves personally and professionally in a manner that does not compromise their professional responsibilities.
13.Trainers must strive to maintain impartiality and refrain from counselling, advising, promoting or projecting personal biases or beliefs.
14.Trainers must maintain the boundaries of their professional role, refraining from personal involvement.
15.Trainers must always act in a professional and ethical manner.
16.Trainers must work in a collaborative and consultative manner to ensure high quality delivery, best practice use, compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and regulations.
17.Trainers must deliver, evaluate, record and review training to ensure competency
based learning including underpinning of knowledge and skills.
18.Trainers must design and deliver training to meet the needs of a diverse range of learners that motivate them to provide quality services to people in their care.
Conditions of Registration as an Ethical Training Provider
Subscribing individuals / organisations agree to comply with the Healthcare Trainers Network code of ethics as follows:
1. That registration and listing is on-going until terminated by either party.
2. Information provided to the Healthcare Trainers Network has been authorised to be published.
3. Information provided by the Healthcare Trainers Network must not be collected, sold, or passed onto any third parties.
4. All parties will be committed to the Healthcare Trainers Network Code of Ethics.
5. The Healthcare Trainers Network have the right to refuse or withdraw listing of an individual or organisation.
6. The Healthcare Trainers Network will notify those individuals and organisations who have signed up of any changes to the Code of Ethics or Conditions of Registration.
7. Commitment by an individual or organisation to the Code of Ethics does not provide an endorsement from the Healthcare Trainers Network that any training delivered by the individual or organisation is accredited or approved.
8. The 'Ethical Training Provider' logo can be used on websites, stationery, promotional materials, training resources and certificates where it demonstrates that the Code of Ethics are being adhered to.
9. Ethical Training Providers agree to receiving informative emails concerning healthcare training provision from the Healthcare Trainers Network.
